oil pressure gauge

I have a second oil pressure gauge on my engine. Today I had the plastic line up to the gauge split and ended up with oil spraying everywhere. I bought the unit from Advanced Auto parts. Is this typical of the non electrical units or is this just a cheep import issue? The line closest to the engine is much harder than the rest of the run. I would imagine being so close to the engine has caused this.
Do I just switch over to an electrical gauge and how will this work on a 6vlt pos grnd system?

Plastic and heat don't mix very well, I had one of those and it didn't last either. Out of curiosity what's the reason for two oil pressure gauges?

I had a low reading on the dash gauge which is also spaced between positive readings 20-50-80. So I went to the auto parts store and bought an over the counter one and discovered that the issue was in the dash unit. I replaced the sender for that one and then just coupled the two.
I may just remove the aftermarket one now.

That's what I'd do. Now that you know what its reading just use the original one. With flatheads the main thing is to know you have oil pressure.

That plastic tubing can be a pain. It splits, cracks, and crushes easily with compression fittings.

Get a gauge that comes with copper, or get a copper replacement tube for yours.
