Has anyone removed the oilpan from a '46 V8 without pulling the engine? Up to now most of my work has been on Hudson sixes where it WAS possible. The only problem I can see is the wishbone.

Someone please tell me before I end up with the pan most of the way down only to discover...

Yes I tried the Search function...nothing.

i dropped the pan on my 41 when it had an 59AB engine in it and also with the 8BA it now has,you will have to unbolt the front motor mounts and with a jack and 2x4 under the front pulley, raise the motor up a few inches, you may have to turn the crank so it clears the pan, make sure you remove the starter, dip stick and oil line, and it will come out ...

You need to unbolt the wishbone and pull it down about 6". If the exhaust cross over pipe is inplace remove it also. Pull the starter and the dipstick tube. You will be able unbolt and remove the pan.
