We're all pretty much in agreement here. We are here for our mutual interest in Fords, and we respect each other's views on touchy subjects by simply not discussing them. That's a tried and true way to keep old friends and make new ones.
How about next time just ignore the ignorant and answer the question?
Take the pan off, repair it right(weld it up) and move on. Not a fan of JB weld where oil will be or has been. It never seems to seal up. JB works great on manifolds and such. My buddy has a boat with a cracked block (4 cyl. mercruiser) JB weld repaired the crack and it's been in constant service for 15 years. True story.
Pop rivet a penny on the inside, form the penny to fit and put jb weld in between the pan hole and penny, it'll never come loose or leak, had to do it on a mack diesel out in the oilfield , it ran for years like that,no problems.
