Oil pan engine mounts

One rear engine mount on my oil pan that connects to the frame is bent. The back of the engine is shifted at least 1 inch closer to one side. Before I get all gung-ho and start bending stuff back, is there a right and wrong way to do this? I can get a picture if it helps. Thanks experts.

If you don't have the Wilson pan jig available, I would find the center line of the pan then heat and bend the arms till they are both the same distance from that center line and the correct distance apart to mount in the frame. If you don't have a pan jig available you could use a long straight edge to at least check that the sides of the pan are parallel.

You know Greg the pull the pan guys are right but I'm with the "Farmer Grey" back yard straighten the stuff in the car crowd. Especially if you're not having any other bent pan related problems. Nothing to lose. If it has to come out after well so be it.

I have a pan jig and would still not tear a T engine down just for a bent pan ear. Use heat and bend it until it fits. They get bent in when the engine is kicked around while out of the car. If at some point the engine has to come out for other reasons, by all means have the pan straightened on a jig.
