Oil leak

I need some help. I am having a oil leak(I think it is 600w out of the transmission). It is coming out of the cluch housing when ever I park on a up hill slant driveway. I thought it was motor oil at first, but it is too thick.
How would the 600w oil leak out in front of the transmission when I park up hill? Has me buffaloed.
Please help with any suggestions,
Thanks

It is possible the vent hole in the trans tower is plugged. It is on the backside of the tower a few inches from the floor. Stick a drill bit in the hole to clear it. With the vent plugged pressure can build inside the trans and it can force oil out through the two shifting rods that protrude into the bell housing.

While what Tom says is true, my bet is with Tom. But the real question is whether it is a problem. A few drops, dont worry. A big puddle requires more investigation.

A big puddle when I park up hill after driving. Will check the vent hole.

Could be oil, but it sure was thick and dirty looking like 600w..... my oil is pretty clean.... where would it be leaking from if it is oil...the main bearing seal????

If A's are parked nose up on a steep incline they will leak oil through the rear main as the slinger will not be doing it's job if it is not turning. It happens also when the A is loaded on a flatbed tow truck because of the high angle of the ramp.

To Echo what Ray is talking about look under the bell housing of my car. You will see oil leaking onto the flatbed. This was when a valve seat came apart. Now after a new engine she drives almost like a dream.

The reason it leaks out the rear main is loose or broken babbitt or the pan is overfull. Why it looks dirty is because it has been in the flywheel housing and the reason it looks thick is because it is cool from spinning inside the flywheel accumulating till there is more than the flywheel can hold or the motor stops and the lack of centrifugal force allows it to settle and drip out.

Bad news, I know but, that's the way I see it lots of times.

I agree with James...in the flywheel housing the oil also mixes with dust from the clutch disc and that will make it appear "thick".
