I have a freind who is doing some work on his valves. We have noticed that when he opens up his galley by removing the valve conver there is practically no oil left in the galley even after 12 hours of sitting. The rear main has some oil over the tube governed by the height of the oil return pipe, but the front main and the centre main are virtually dry.
Any time i have opeened up me valve cover after 12 hours or so the galley has a lot of oil in it especially at the front and centre mains. It makes a mess.
It seems to me that to lose that much oil in a relatively short period of time that the front and centre mains must be loose - or the clearance between the distributor drive hardware and the block is too loose - orsomething else.
Thoughts please. Do you think this loss of oil is normal in that period of time?
