OD's Boat Anchors or good property??

Curious if these OD's are boat anchors or good property? Two of them seem to need some work. The other turns smooth, but bearings sound dry. I also have what is left of the transmissions. Looks like they were dissassmbled many years ago and not stored in a dry place. Thanks Rod

That part looks like a normal non od tailshaft --or the back part of od without the od

I took an od to Hershey from a chevy, the guy that makes BW overdrives into torque tube ods paid me 150$ for my 12$ garage sale od

I don't think those look like any overdrives I have seen, just tailshaft housings. In some areas they have a demand but it is scattered and sporatic. I just had a pair of complete transmissions for sale on C-list with a complete R-9 and R-10 do units, cheap enough and not one call. They went to the crusher.

I really hate to see good parts go to the scrap yard but that is your choice ! I would keep at least one good one if it has a popular number on it . Otherwise , scrap does add up and just wait till you get a good load to take and get some car money for the scrap ! That's what I did this summer and came home with $389 !
Just my opinion !

Jim

These did not go to the scrap, so I still have them. I am pretty much into Model A's, but often buy large parts lots to resell. Most of the current parts lot is 40's through 60's stuff and over 80% of it is NOS. Rod
