I have seen them before to. Is it possible that it is an after market style so that no grease would get slung out onto the hood?

I had one like that, but it was cracked nearly in half. Guessing it was an aftermarket. I also have an aluminum aftermarket pump that I may try to rebuild at some point. Rod

Also it has a oil cup on the front bearing, zerk fitting for rear bushing. Somebodys idea for a leakless pump maybe? A motor in a Plane? Marine engine?

I've had a pump just like that on my deluxe delivery tour car for five years. The front portion is filled with waterproof grease. I occasionally pump a little more waterproof grease into the front and back grease fittings. So far it's been the best waterpump I've ever had.

I have almost the same one on the motor I took out of our 1929 pickup. Never had any problems with it, not sure where it came from, been on the motor for as long as I can remember

I had one of these on my '31 fordor. It started to leak so it's off now. I haven't taken it apart yet to see what it's made of. Stay tuned ...

This type of pump didn't come on combine engines. It's an aftermarket pump. I had some advertising for these pumps at one time. I'll have to see if I can locate it.

One of these pumps were used by Pacific Gas & Electric Co. mechanics to service their fleet for many years. They were also used in "A" powered tugs on the docks of San Francisco.
