I have a V8-60 cam that is labeled as a "twin fire"
A friend who has since passed away told me that he ran it in his midget with a converted lincoln distributor.
I have the distributor and the cam.... I know he swapped to another cam and a magneto later... so I am assuming it was not a 180 degree crank.
From what I can gather without a lot of effort...
the lobes for cylinders 1 2 6 & 3 are reversed, when compared to a stock V8-60 cam... what i mean is...the high piont is 180 degrees, exactly opposite.... but all other lobes are the same when the timimg marks are at the same location....
Does anyone have any thoughts or knowledge of such a thing?
In this photo the small circles repersent the point of the lobe when viewing the came from the back... top row is twin fire... bottom row what I think is a stock cam.
the right side diagrams are the location of the lobes for the intake only... again when viewed from the back of the cam...
all angles are just quick guesses basically showing the relationship to each other... no angles are anywhere near accurate... just the relationship to each other in order is all I was trying to figure out...
Am I missing something here?
thanks for any help or thoughts
