Odd Question about Teacup Tail Lights

I have dual taillights on my 30 Town Sedan. I was about to purchase two new taillights since mine apparently are from two different manufacturers and structurally they don't match. Yes, I'm aware one of them has the window to light the license plate. I'm looking at the two units pictured, and I see that the amber lights don't match. When I questioned the seller he said that his grandfather told him they are supposed to be like that. I've never heard that before and am wondering if that's true? I would think they should match. What do all of you Model A experts say? Thanks very much. Bob

Use a high intensity RED led bulb for the brakes. Will shine bright red through either, and more understandable by the dummies following you.

Unless the color difference bothers you when looking at it. (I just look the other way.)

If you're worried about authenticity, originally from the factory, there was only one tail light installed on the driver's side. If a second was installed on the right side, it was likely done years afterward when two taillights became the norm on most cars, and by then there were differences in the available reproductions. If there are variations between the two on your car, I'd change them only if you can't ignore them.
