Have you tried spraying wd40 around your carb and intake/exh manifolds??
Paul in CT
The other day, I found my manifold was warped. Until I bring it to a machinist, I substituted it with a spare set that match well. I still sprayed the junctions and there was no difference. If I had a leak at the manifold, I would expect my vacuum readings to be consistently low. The fact that im getting readings that oscilate to 23" makes me think that everything up to the valves is good and tight. A leak at the 1 and 2 inlet is still connected to the 3 and 4 inlet, so the leak should be shared and show a consistent low reading, at least thats what I would assume.
