odd cross member

Here is an interesting cross member

That looks like an early 33 crossmember.

Only the dimensions are wrong for 1933 and has no holes for the engine mounts like other 1932 cross members but 2 round plates bolted to the cross member.

It looks like a modified very early 32. The little cups are whats wrong and of course the center removed. The early V8 cars used little rubber pads that bolted thru the angled holes. Someone probably could not get the rare early pads so desided to modify the crossmember to take the later mounts. It did not go well, so it was replaced?

A good candidate to widen the spring slot for a later spring for a modified. I wouldn't scrap it.
