OD installation, easy

FYI, Simple job, installing an OD transmission in the A. Yes I said, but when it came to pulling the existing pinion and driveshaft out the front of the banjo with 3.54 diff gears the pinion would not clear the internal housing of the banjo, the only way is to pull the diff housing apart. Any one else had this problem?

Remember the older you get the better you were.

When installing a Mitchell overdrive, I always take the housing apart, so I can replace the axel seals and check the bearings.

The Banjo has a Double Race in the front of it. The Double Race has to be pulled out for the Pinion and Drive Shaft to be removed together. You need one of the Pinion Pullers to do the job - I think Snyders has it in their catalog. ken

I used the Pinion Puller that I bought from Mitchell. Others in our club have used it as well. None of us have had any problems at all.
