Nuts and Bolts

I need to go to the hardware store. Can someone tell me the size, style and length of bolts for mounting step plates. Also the nut size for the two studs on the battery tray, for my Victoria. Thanks Bob

I don't have step plates on my Model A but did on my Model T. If I remember correctly they are 1/4-20 oval head and chrome plated. The nuts will be 1/4-20 too and you will need flat washers. Use the nylon lock nuts.

I don't remember the nut size for the battery tray. Measure the diameter of the studs. It will be a fraction size like 5/16. Ford use a lot of fine thread fasteners so it may be something like 5/16-24.

Blockhead beat me to the draw so just use his posting.

Agreed. I have a set and they have proven invaluable. Also consider a set of thread restorer taps and dies.
