Nozzle Replacement

I have a Stromberg 97 with a clogged accelerator pump nozzle that even a sonic cleaner wont clear. I got a new set of nozzles put I can’t get the clogged nozzle out. What’s the trick to getting the old nozzles out?

Tap the lower ends of emulsion tubes with a 6-32 taping 3 or 4 turns. Screw in a 6-32"x1-1/2" screw with a 6-32 nut and a #10 flat-washer. Now tighten the nut against the washer to pull the tubes.

Uncle Max can remove and install the nozzle bars. I guess you have tried small wire and compressed air. soak in Acetone may help.

Thank You for that very helpful post Glenn however that is not what I was looking for. I am trying to remove the accelerator pump nozzles. The part where fuel spurts out when the throttle is opened. It is only a press fit.

I think Mart had a video about one he was working on that was clogged.
Post a picture of the part to be sure we know what you're working on.

Mart's video was for a 94 but the same method may work for you. First, have you used wire and welding torch cleaner wires to clear the passages?

This is tube video link, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMiWUQyIkmg
Start looking at around 14:14 time. Mart filled the accelerator pump well with oil, place an acceraltor pump into the well and tap it with a hammer to porce the blockage out.

I managed to get the nozzle out eventually. There was no way to get a wire into the nozzle as it started in the bottom of the accelerator pump well. Once I had it out I could easily see that there was no way possible to clean it out while it was in place. I bought new nozzles which are now installed.

Good but how did you get them out?
