Now It Runs

I got my "new" Model A 4 door sedan 2 weeks ago today, it hadn't run for a while and had the battery box moved to the firewall and some other "improvements" and wiring changes. I followed the advice given to me on the forum (Thanks) and bought a new battery box and got some qualified help from a friend of mine. Started and went around the block this afternoon. It sounds good and ran ok but I think I need some practice with fuel adjustment and spark retard/advance. Haven't figured out the brake lights and horn yet but hopefully in the next couple of days. Thanks for all the help.

Henry Ford apparently had a well-honed understanding of the typical male driver's need to continually fiddle with things, which is probably the real reason for the spark advance lever, manual throttle and inside-the-cab carburetor gas adjustment valve control rod.

We spent another 3 hours on it tonight and now everything works but the right headlight, i think bulb is bad and maybe incorrect, is there a bulb from local auto parts that will work?

I think Henry put the mixture adjustment in the car to be a source of frustration. Perhaps the greatest prank ever?
No, it was just a simple old basic carb that needed the fiddlin' rod to make it run fairly well in all climes & altitudes & when they were half worn out or full of crud! Bill W's Ghost:eek:

Not many local auto parts houses will have 6V bulbs.Best to order from your 'A' parts vendor & get some spare bulbs at the same time.
