I have no idea on this and am at witts end on this one. Where else to ask but at the Barn where in my opinion the smartest people in the world stop by.

I am currently doing a restoration on an old Hus-ski Snowmobile. I have been trying to find a source for some Flexloc nuts 1/2-13 NC. In stainless or I would would settle for plated. I only need four of them at a resenable price No one has them up here in central BC Canada that I can find. I was wondering if anyone has seen any anywhere I could call.

If someone could give me info on this it would be appreciated

thanks!

Flexloc, is that like a Nyloc nut? I have a box full that I bought at harbor freight in an assortment. They are cad plated but would work.

Mike V hit the nail right on the head with the link on his post. A little pricey but I sent them a Email to see if they will ship four my way. We will see.

A flexloc has no nylon it is all steel so it would stand up under temp extremes.
I don't want to change over to a modern nut I would sooner just reuse the old well rounded ones. Just paint them over. The new ones would look sharp and Clean.

I did at one time go in to are Fastenal that Ed mentioned but they told me here that I had to buy a box of 100. :(

Even if someone came across four I would be happy to send you the money to cover everything.

Thanks again.

Cory, when the Model A goes away for the winter; out comes my 66 OMC Snow Cruiser. Great to have a toy for all seasons.

dr.j, that is really cool. As a Florida boy, I don't know much about snow mobiles but I like them and I really like that one. Vintage anything is cool. I drove or rode one once. In colorado, all the way up to 9000ft at the continental divide. Great fun, I rode circles around all the northerners in our group. I guess years of 3 wheeling experience crossed over! lol

Cory have you tried BC Fasteners and Tools?
http://www.bcfasteners.com/catalog.html

Aviation fasteners...google Columbia airmotive, also aircraft spruce
MSC industrial has had every oddball fastener I've ever had to chase.

WEST MARINE is ubiquitous around any boating area as well as on line.
They have 1/2" X 13 stainless NYLOCK NUTS at 25 for $14 USD, and stores probably sell them individually.
