Not Model A but Model A Era

Found this today and curious what kind of car this is. The driver charged folks 10 cents for the ride and jump. Times were different then - kids were skinny and more daring.

The car is an American Austin. 1930-1932 build. It is a coupe, generally referred to as a 5-window, as there are Business Coupes with only three windows. These were made in Butler, PA. The company went bankrupt in 1934, reorganized under new owners and made Bantams. They went on to invent the Jeep!

Bantams still show up now and again at car shows. A contraption like that would not work in this day and age, attorneys would have a field day if someone even got a scratch...
