The Essex chassis rails were used in most Dirt Track race cars in the 1930's. Strong with beautiful lines. Bob

Amazing, the resemblance to a Model A in the front pic.
Chief chopped off the back of an Essex & built a semi to haul cotton from the "bottom lands" to the gin. He used an Essex transmission, behind a Model T engine & transmission & it would climb "ELM HILL" like a GOAT, with a FULL load! HEY! Chief, what did you use to make the 5th wheel?-----"WOOD"! was his blunt answer??? Wish I had pics. Bill W.

I'm not sure I should say on here, it is a bad word.
Read an article, once, that the original, original, small block Chev design was a competitor to the "Y" block design, for the engine of choice, to be used in the 1954 FORD line???????---Then was later "snatched" up by G.M.??????? Bill W.
