not a Earthquake?

I thought that I heard thunder. Looked up to see a beautiful blue sky. Wrote it off to the cabbage I had last night.
 
My office in rockville (outside DC) shook pretty good. Pretty much no damage. the tv is saying a couple of buildings and chiminey's here or there have a crack. One of those times where you find out who went with the lowest bid on construction.....
 
Sounds like everyone is safe from the earthquake, lets all hope that Irene stays off land!
 
Yea, here too in Frederick, I first felt it, then noticed the house trembling, then the car I was next to, only maybe 8 - 10 seconds
 
This should make us all think about what we have leaning up against our garage walls that could fall down against the Model As. I'm aware of that all the time here in California, even though we have been lucky not having anything major for some time now.
 
We just had a 4.2 Aftershock. Irene is comming to visit this weekend,Id rather see her go out to Sea!

Sitting in an office in Chicago on the second floor. Felt a little something, thought they were moving something very heavy on the loading dock. Got home, saw the news.
 
I was in my car, never noticed it, but the guys in the shop said things danced on the counter and celing fan made an odd sound.
