Hi...
Hope someone can help me...
I have found a orig. 100% unused Camshaft , it is still in orig packing and was from a old Garage where the owner was dead.. he died about 8 years ago in the age of 92 .. And the Family is now selling al the orig stuff...
So here is the big questions, what do i have to pay for this NOS Cam.. ??? I will pay the Price, but i will not give a bid so low they not will deal with me... I have no idea how much i can pay..???

Reground cams in the US are about $120. and new reproduction ones around $450. . That should give you a guess at a range. make sure it has been stored properly and is true to its manufactured specs. I once bought NOS rear hubs that were ground .005 too little in the bearing race. Somebody must have raided the scrap pile at the factory.

I recently purchased a 3 bearing NOS camshaft for $225. I think that was fair price for both the seller and me.

If the center cam surface in your block is oversize then a new cam from Bill Stipe would be a better choice (stipemci@excel.net, (920) 467-9700). His cam would also probably have a better profile.

To me it would depend on the condition and provenance of the "orig packing". Its value would lie in the display value for my N.O.S. parts collection. Since no one will ever see it in an engine I agree with Charlie, a new Stipe cam is the way to go for a useable rather than display cam. Value? What reason/use do you have for it and how bad do you want it? To me, if the packing is truly original Ford parts and everything is in excellent display condition, probably more than a new Stipe cam.

I have two used five bearing cams that were removed from freeze damaged blocks that I'd let go for $50. Just need cleaning--no rust---been in an old parts barn for fifty plus years! binkbee@twc.com

I bought my NOS 3 bearing cam for $5. I didn't even know it was NOS, until I got it home and looked it over carefully a few months later. :)

That sure helps to balance out some of the bad deals I've also gotten over the years. :D

If you want a chance to get other stuff make a high offer and then be more conservative on the other offers. You can always donate the original to MAFFI for the tax deduction.
