Norwich, NY Car show

Took our 29 Fordor to Norwich, N.Y. car show today, I just looked on Google maps, and it's 57 miles from here! It was very windy, that car was all over the place. Lots of hills on the way. While in the town of Morrisville, a State Trooper asked where all the old cars were going today, and by the way you have no brake lights. No ticket, told him I would look into it. When I got down there my father in law told me, it is probably a bad switch. Had three deer run in front of me on the way. Our water pump leaked the whole way home.
On our way back the car started acting squirlly, I stopped to get gas and the car would not start. After a couple hours, my father in law came by in his 1940 Opera Coupe. He adjusted our points, and away we went. I have a few things to learn about this car. My poor wife said while we were sitting at the gas station, this is my whole life growing up, waiting while her father fixed one thing or another on a Model A while her, her sister, and mom waited. What an adventure!!!

Yep, strong sidewinds will be felt in the Model A. At least when I'm on the overpass with a strong sidewind I could sure feel it last summer.:D

In the daytime I look at the ammeter when I step on the brake to know that my bulb hasn't burned out. At night I can easily tell as the bulb really lights up the road. Just two years ago the original wrinkle glass Ford script bulb finally burned out.

Tom, "they" don't make good bulbs like that anymore. I once found an ooooold, sorta' pear shaped genuine MAZDA light bulb (110 volt) Put it in a decorative lamp & NEVER turned it off. It lasted at least 15 years!! Bill W.

There is a great auto museum in Norwich. And , also a nice little airport with at least one plane at the bottom of the pond on the north end of the runway.

Yes, I have been by the museum many times, never been in there. Going to have to make another trip some time. I believe that the museum is dedicated to the Franklin, made in my adoptive home town of Syracuse from 1902- 1934. The first Franklin is in the Onondaga County museum on long term loan from the Smitsonian.
Didn't know there was a plane in the pond!

Thanks to all who gave their lives for our country.
