non-stock contact points 68-11A

Can someone shed light on the contact point set up that is attached? I have seen same for 40A. What is the advantage of this setup?

That would be a Mallory kit allows the use of 60s ford contacts ( available thru local napa store in quality echlin contacts ) the very best out there . Coupled with a 11A internal cam and advance makes a VERY nice helmet distributor .....Pretty rare to find new in a box ...
