Non functioning CP air tools

air tool oil only. I have two very old roofing nailers and if you use any oil other than air tool oil they wont work properly and if you plan to put 7000 nails in a roof it need to work right and need it to drive that nail all the way and the ram needs to return all the way or it wont feed the next nail.

Bondo is your friend. Hand sanding is a waste of time. Metal work is for dinosaurs. :D:D:D

Personally, I enjoy working metal. For me, using the least Bondo and fillers, the better. Several of my cars are so rare, that I have to make all of their metal parts from scratch, and often that is a real challenge, and the most fun part of restoration. Building new brake drums: I made a pattern, new Ductile iron casting poured, machined, and installed. I do a lot of sheet metal work too.

It was sarcasm. I appreciate the talent that goes into all forms of metal work.

There's nothing worse than someone using a bucket of mud to hide bad work.

Bill,
Guns are like wrenches. You need a different one for what you are trying to do. Also some of us in the day would stay up till 3 am singing with the President of the NRA.
When I was a youngster way back when we had company stop by and one of their kids took a big swig of old #9. Didn't hurt him but you could smell where he was.

I poured several doses of ATF in the air inlet of the DA sander and forced the trigger open. I tried it and it kind of works a little. However when it does rotate, releasing the trigger wont stop the sander from rotating. I have to turn the air off with the little knob on the side. I did the same with the in-line sander, but it still wont operate. I am hesitant to disassemble either tool, as they seem to have a lot of small parts and I am not sure I can reassemble the tools correctly. I was hoping that adding ATF to the air inlet would free the "stuck" internal parts, but so far not a lot of luck.
