noisy engine

Hi all,
I just bought another V8 Ford 1956. The engine runs great. The only thing is it is a bit noisy .. Sounds like the wrist pins to me .Until I rebuild it what is a good additive to quiet the noise a bit. Something I can buy at a parts store.....

Any and all help will be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe D

I would suggest you go to a Goodwill Store and buy a used mattress to fit a baby bed. Place it on top of the engine and slam the hood shut.

Seriously, I don't think there is anything that will accomplish what you wish to do. Maybe try the old "STP"? Check valve lash. These old Y-blocks are bad about a lot of things, one of which is the cam bearings turning in the block and cutting off oil flow to the rockers, thus causing wear and noise.
