No room for more trucks

Oh, and BTW, I think My doors are better aligned, top, bottom and middle. In my book that's what counts. Shine can be sprayed out of a gun. :)

Love the Beatles reference. You're my kind of guy.

Raised in a family where real music really counted. I struggle with my grandkid's names but can instantly recall lyrics for way too many late 50's - late 70's songs. a time of music genius.

Nice work on the motorcycle, GB. Sorry about your thumb as well. I saw a sticker on a natural patina car at a show this weekend that read "Shiny Paint Causes Stress!". I thought that was quite fitting for a primered old hot rod like mine.

Yes, me too. I watched a good movie "A Complete Unknown" about Bob Dylan last week and really enjoyed it. I had "A Tribute to Woody" playing in my head for a couple of days after .. probably happen again today!

Yes, sorry about your thumb. I\m "fairly" careful but at times think, "I shouldn't be doing this". sometimes I get lucky :-)

You guys ready for before and after shots of the 'ol thumb? I sent one that was taken at the hand surgeon's the next morning to a doctor friend, and his reply was that "It looked like a 'brutal' wound......" Perhaps a picture will just turn up.

Thanks for the reminder. We definately will watch that one.

Ravin said it could be considered 'bad form' to put up a picture of that ****** stump, so I decided to post a couple pictures that inspired me to build this bike. Micheal Parks and an unnamed old guy on what appears to be a WLA. They both contributed, though I discovered these lone riders about 50 years apart. Says the guy who raised 4 kids in the same house for 48 years. Heck, We took the station waon to disneyland TWICE! That was a 'Long Lonesome Highway', wasn't it? Wouldn't trade it for nuthin' ... Well maybe a WLA and a sunset....

I got plans in my head for building a trike out of a lawn tractor…….using the engine, frame and drive axle from the tractor and a small motorcycle front-end….we’ll see if the plans make it to the torch and welder phase….
My father rode a WLA in WWII….when I first started riding motorcycles 50 yrs ago..I had British bikes….one day I was working on one and he said “why is the clutch pedal so small?”…I said that’s the shifter…he shook his head and said “buy a truck!”…………..Mark

GB, I truly enjoy your posts and kinda living vicariously through you. Keep em coming please!

This bike project started out with the thought of putting the newly acquired Hatz diesel into a Tote Gote. I bought one, but I decided the frame wouldn't hold up. My idea was something unusual to putt around the 80 acre showgrounds at our late summer Gas/steam/tractor event at Lynden. All of my contemporaries were bringing golf carts and side by sides to more easily cover the ground in between the venues there. This would be in the evening when the public went home and we had the grounds to ourselves. I just couldn't bring myself to cruise arond in an ugly old fiberglass golf cart or an even uglier (and spendier) all terrain job. So I built the Hatzuki. And now I have a Tote Gote for the grankids to terrorize their parents with.

Edit: This was a reply to Kube's post.

I will do my best Mike, and thanks for the kind words. When I post too far off topic I'm always waiting for the other shoe to drop and someone reminds me this is an early V8 forum. Heck you guys even let me build an entire Faux Jailbar RPU on a (gasp) Japanese chassis and drivetrain. You fellas are my 'Band of Brothers' in the battle to keep all this amazing machinery alive.

I was thinking you might want a flathead powered tank!

There is a flathead V8 (cadillac) from a tank about a mile from here in the woods on a shipping pallet. It was brought here after the war by a couple of bachelor brothers that ran a sawmill. The story goes these tanks had 2 engines, and the guys were planning to run their planer with it. Looks like it was covered for a long time, but I went and saw it last year. Nothing over the carb, so I guess it wasn't interesting enough to grab me.I think I could have it for the asking. But why would I want that old thing.? What would I do with it? :)
