I would just like to say thanks to all who responded to my thread about the brake pedal rod on my '30 coupe. I got my new brake rod last night and installed it this morning. I finally got the coupe back on the ground with the new Mitchell transmission and took it for a ride around the block. Everything worked great. Of course, we are in a blizzard warning today and between the blowing and drifting snow, I didn't want to go too far.
Thanks to Purdy for his info about adjusting the brake system. I didn't really understand what he was talking about until I started taking a close look under the car. I believe I now have a better understanding of what goes on down there and before spring driving time I will check all the adjustments and see if the brakes will work even better than they do now.
As per my original issue, apparently my son and I bumped the brake rod and caused it to bend either when we took out the old transmission or put in the new one.
