gas is good up to carburetor, even flows thru needle valve and into float bowl. Starts, and when gas is used up, it stops. Any hidden secrets inside the original Holley carb? I'm at wits end! MC
have you checked gas pump pressure at the carb? if you have at least 2 lb then the needle is sticking or the float will not drop due to miss-alignment to allow more gas to come in
Thanks for the ideas, plenty of pressure, Ford fuel pump works, + electric going.. gas everywhere when carburetor top is off and hooked up to fuel line. Put back together, it stops! I'm yanking the carb AGAIN to fill float bowl and see if accelerator pump works, then maybe take all apart again. It has a fresh kit and all is clean [or seems to be] Gas tank cleaned and coated, fuel filter in place. Thanks again ! MC
Make sure there is nothing blocking the bowl vent in the throat of the carb. I've seen insects nest in the round tube for the vent.
Also, check to make sure the float isn't set so low that it may be too close to the bottom of the bowl and restricting the travel.
