Need a nickel plated radiator shell for a 1917 low style radiator, both top and bottom pieces. 541/417-0258

1926-1927 were the only years Ford offered a Nickel Shell and these where High styles. Ford never produced a nickel low shell. I imagine you could find a nice original and have it done though if you wanted.

While there may be a few nickle plated shells that were sold as aftermarket replacements in the day they would be far in between. You might keep your eye on ebay for after market hot rod shells. If they measure out the same one might work. If you find one that could be plated as Farmallcub49 suggested, plating is going to run in the $100's of dollars. Hope you find one, should look great on your milk wagon.

The 1926-27 nickel plated shells were made of brass for better plating. All the 1925 and earlier shells both high and low style were made of plain steel. This may affect your decision on plating a low shell.

I had one plated last summer. $20 to strip and $70 to plate. Some 26-27's I have seen where steel and plated nickel. Bumpers are steel and plated.

Might be higher cost here in Oregon. A friend was going to have his Model A rear bumperets chrome plated. Prices strarted at about $125 and up per bar (X4) would have been $500 up to do the job and not even show quality. It might be a little less to do just nickle. Ford may have saved some money by using a brass shell. The nickle may have stuck to the brass without a layer of copper under it.
