Nice Stance...

Who spends that kind of money on a car and then two years later lists it for sale and may only get half of the investment back. More money than brains? This upside-down value/cost isn't that unusual to us mere mortals but we are usually talking about thousands of dollars not hundreds of thousands.. I would love to see an itemized bill of the build to justify the hours and material cost. I am just a DIY guy without a huge budget and this just boggles my mind.

F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote that "the rich are different from you and me" in his 1926 short story "The Rich Boy." Ernest Hemingway supposedly replied, "Yes, they have more money".

Ordinarily, I wouldn't mention something like this, but notice it has been 100 years exactly with the differences being more and more exaggerated as time passes.

It is all relative.
I have sold two cars to guys with more money than they would not bother to count. Both guys were actually nice fellows and rather intelligent.
What they had each paid for my cars was well beyond market value. To them I believe it was who had the biggest (wallet) to show off.
At that level of wealth, overpaying (a lot) for a car is like me getting the double burger vs. the single. It simply doesn't matter.
