Newly acquired 32 coupe

Hi, my name is Todd. I joined the forum a couple of years ago when I was looking for some information on my '39 Standard Coupe. I have always wanted a '32 3 window coupe and last week was able to purchase the car I wanted.
The previous owner had this car approximately 43 years. It was painted in the 1950's and has it's original interior. It has a 1937 engine and transmission and was converted to hydraulic brakes long ago. I intend to maintain the interior and exterior of the car in it's current condition and improve it's mechanical reliability.

I hope you went out and bought a lottery ticket. Beautiful car. Check out the brakes carefully many of the early conversions left a lot to be desired. FYI attached is a picture of the master cylinder mount on mine.

Charlie,
The brakes are the first thing I'm going to address. They work good, but pedal placement is off. I will be making a post on that soon. Are you happy with yours?

A lot of master cylinder conversion set ups aren't as elaborate as Charlie's is. Many early conversions just mount the master cylinder to a flat bracket on the back of the K-member. Make sure the wire wheels are mounted to the hubs/drums properly. They generally have ring spacers to give full seating of the wheel centers if the wheels are the old Ford types. Here is a link.

That's a very nice Deluxe Coupe. Have fun.

HOLY COW~~~~ she's a Beauty!!! Trunk back or rumble ? keep it original and you will be so glad you did. Share more pics if you can, thanks!!!

Quite a great looking find you have there...like others have said, get it road worthy and keep it original..

I am very happy with mine. I used a '39-'48 master cylinder and measured a '39 brake pedal to get the leverage correct. I have a stock '32 pedal assembly in front of the K member so, naturally, the placement is correct.

One of the things I had in mind with mine was to keep he master cylinder from hanging down where it might be subject to damage. I definitely second your comment about the spacers. If the current wheels have been run without spacers Todd should be sure to check the lug nut holes for cracks starting to form.

Great for you!! Did you know about this car for a long time? How did you find it? 3 windows as you know are VERY hard to find. Happy for you.

Rumble seat. I made an album with more pictures.

Again....what a JEWEL! And your body number does NOT appear to be on the REGISTRY....see the link below. What a prestigious group to be associated with. Hopefully, you will PM FordBarn member "RANDY" and ask him to include your number on the master list. I know it would be an honor for me to have a car on that list. Click the link below!

Below is the "Body Number" that we're referencing. DD

Congratulations Todd! You have a beautiful car and I'm glad to know you'll be keeping it as original as possible. Original interior- wow!!! You must be on cloud 9!
Doug.

Very Nice indeed! Richard and Dennis Lacy in West Covina, CA The V8 Garage, sell a master cylinder bracket, it uses just original holes for mounting also brake line kits. Good Luck with your car!
