M&A Roadster

Junior Member
Ok, i've got Les Andrews books and I've been going through my grandfathers 1928 roadster. I have a lot of qoestions but I'll start off with one about the top.
It's a tan fabric top, the frame and fabric are in great condition. However the tacks ?? on the front and rear rail are rusting and bleeding onto the tan fabric. Can it be taken apart and the tacks replaced or is the only option an all new top? Thanks

First of all, congratulations on becoming a Model A owner, and welcome.

If you want to replace the tacks that hold the top material on, you can do it easily if you replace ONE AT A TIME. If you pull the whole thing off and expect it to go back on the same way, forget it.

You can clean the fabric around each old tack while working one at a time.
