New wood in pickup at header.

I started re-wooding a 30 pickup today and noticed that on initial fit that the wood header protruded about 1/2" evenly above the metal header cover. Is this correct or will it cause problems with the visor installation later. The wood kit is from classic.

thanks for any tips,
tim

Are you certain the front panel is original to your cab? The Tudor and Closed Cab use a different panel than other models and I ASSUME it is taller. Yes, 1/2" is way too much. You should also be fitting your visor before finalizing ANY of those parts. There should be no more than about 1/4" for the trim welt to do it's job.

Ran into the same problem with my '31 C/Cab
My visor fit fine, so I went back to Gaslight (where my header came from)
They pulled out 3 different header panels and we found the one that fit like Marco said (about 1/4" exposed)
Don't know why this would have ever been replaced with the wrong one, but I guess in 80 yrs, anything can happen
