New vendor?

He sent me e-mails. Nothing on him but his letter screams SCAMMER. Catch words like "buddy" and "above mentioned parts" etc. Be careful, especially when they ask for your phone number. When you check the email addresses the ip's are usually overseas.

Good catch...I checked the OP's previous posts...seems he has a "wanted" ad in the swap section.

He sent me photo's of a car and engine that did not belong to him. If you look on the Early Ford V8 Club site he tried to scam some people over there as well. Western Union or Moneygram transfer only, etc. DO NOT DEAL WITH CHRIS TALLEY
 
The names may change with these 'scammers", but the method of operation does not. Western Union or MoneyGram is the tip off. If they send photos it's usually a photo from a catalog or stolen off the internet. Sometimes it's a photo of the wrong part. It's hard to find and photo parts in Nigeria.
 
I advertised for woody rear fender chrome and got e-mail with "file photo" of mint woody and stating the chrome came from this car. It was in England near some town i have forgotten now,and I could send the 125.00$ via Western Union. I e mailed and said what a coincidence i was in that area on business next week and would come by and give him the cash. Oh Well no return e mail lol

There term advert from someone from Wyoming should have been a red flag right of the bat.
 
I see these kinds of responses to Craigslist ads all the time. If the response is generic and could be used for anything, I typically ignore them.
 
Yep but the only mistake I made was to reply telling him to read the ad. After I sent it I realized that he had my addy.
BTW I bought a very nice reasonable set of SS irons & bows from ford barner oldrodslive.
Thank you again Mike, a real joy to deal with.
