Mark,

Sent you a PM. There's one right under your nose, but you have to act fast.

There was a real nice '39 std coupe that sold on eBay last week. I posted info here just before the auction ended. Keep a watch on eBay using this url. http://motors.shop.ebay.com/Cars-Tr...Trucks&_mPrRngCbx=1&_pcats=6000&_sop=1&_rdc=1
Lots of street rods/hot rods but also some stockers among the group. You might find something there. Consider joining the EFV8C/A. The little by-monthly magazine "The V8 Times" is well worth the joining fee alone. Also join a regional group and talk to the members. Some will probably know someone with a '39 for sale. Get a copy of the EFV8C/A '38-'39 Restoration Book. Pick up a copy of Hemmings MN and look through their classifieds. Advertise here, on the EFV8C/A website, plus other old car websites/forums/classified sections. Good luck. IMO, It's a great feeling to own and drive an early Ford V8!!

I have a friend with a '39 4 door for sale in Forest Park. Runs and drives but needs brake work.

Here is what he told me. If you're interested send me a pm and I'll get you his phone number.

Hey Chad,

These are the pictures of the ’39 when I first got it. It’s a little more dusty now from sitting in the garage. I put new tires on it and it ran when I parked it. I haven’t started it in around 6 months. The brakes need to be repaired. Two of the wheel cylinders are locked up. The body is pretty solid. There is some filler and glass in the lower trunk pan where the gray primer is in the picture of the rear. There is a hole in floor on the driver side. The rest of it is good as far as I can tell. It was originally gray and looks to have been repainted twice. The windshield is good but the rest of the glass will need to be replaced. The dash is in pretty good shape as are the gauges. The front seat will need to be recovered or need a blanket. There you have it.

Thanks a lot.

Mark

Yeah, it's a shame it's orange. But it really is a solid car. I've been after him for a couple years to fix the brakes and get it out. I think he is more of a 50s/60s car kinda guy, and this car seemed like a good idea for him at the time.
