What do you recommend for getting rid of the fairly apparent leaf spring noise? I see what looks like rust dust between the leaves. I assume that that is where the noise is coming from.

If you do not want to replace them or take them apart, you could use motorcycle chain oil in a spray can. It sprays on thin then the filler evaporates and leaves a thick oil base about like STP.Just spray some on and tap with a hammer and spray more on etc. Marv
make sure the squeeks are not coming from the spring shackles. You should be able to greese the spring through the center bolt zerk fitting. witch is not 100% but a good start.
