If it runs OK in low after backing off the adjustment, and slips in high, it sounds like the clutch needs to be tightened up 1/2 turn. If you ran it too long while too tite, the oil probably got burned and thats helping the clutch to slip.
I hope you have an outside oil line as all the band lining debris will surely plug the internal line! ws

If you have cotton bands. you probably did not crack the drum. Did you tighten the three screws inside the trans cover? It sounds like you might need to give each screw another turn but only after making sure the low band is not still too tight.

Check your emerg. brake linkage before you do any clutch adjusting. If the linkage isn't allowing the clutch to engage when you release the hand brake you'll get slipping. Do this first!

I think I'd do Charlies suggestion 1st. Bill he hasn't given us any idea yet that his bands came apart but its definitely something he's going to have to check out. For sure he'll need to evaluate the oil. Actually I wouldn't even evaluate it, I'd just change the oil and be done with it. Check the waste oil for pieces of banding material. Also pull the magneto post out and see if there's any lint on the pointy end. This seems to be a sure place for the lint to catch if the band has come apart. It's probable that you don't have an outside oil line and if the bands did come apart. And that's a whole different ball game. But don't become concerned with that until your sure there's a pretty good chance a band has come apart and the problem exists. Then drive it and see how it acts. If it's still a problem which there's a good chance there will be then adjust the 3 screws on the clutch arms. take them in no more than 3 turns at a time. Then if there's still a problem put it on a trailer and bring it and the title to Rice MN and I'll dispose of it properly. Seriously, good luck!

A regulat Ford maintenance item was to pull the cam cover off the front of the engine and run a speedometer cable up the inside oil line. It gets plugged at the funnel end behind the flywheel. You reall y should pull the pan end of the outside oil line and make sure that one is delivering oil like its supposed to! ws

Internal line funnel is just above crank end flange... new 1/2" outside oiler is the bomb!!
