New Tires yesterday.

Trailer tire sidewalls are thicker, but not designed to flex. Very dangerous on your front wheels because they can pop off the rim while turning. You really should research this before assuming they are safe to run. Here is the Kansas statute:

The Kansas statute for vehicle equipment prohibits operating any vehicle with one or more tires in an "unsafe condition". Due to their incompatible design and safety risks, trailer tires are considered unsafe when used on a passenger vehicle. Driving with unsafe tires could lead to fines and other penalties.

Back in the 80's I bought new tires for my 50 Ford, 600 16 Firestone Deluxe Champions.

The tires were marked " not for Highway use". The dealer told me that was because Ralph Nader was trying to get tube type tires off the street. True, or not, we mounted them up and off I went.

I believe sometimes these laws are made by lobbyist for different reasons than to benefit
the consumer. Common sense tells me a 14 ply tire is not gonna jump off the rim.
My 14k tandem trailer has F rated tires, 3500lb per tire, that 14 ply is gonna be G rated, probably one tire would hold more than the car. Again, I'd run em

They look good and I'd drive on them but then I don't drive much in heavy traffic. I'd think 14 ply tires would ride like solid wooden wheels though. I know the old ton trucks with their 8 or 10 ply tires rode real hard. Of course heavy springs and 90 psi to carry a load didn't help the ride either.
