New Seat For The Merc

I might have posted pics or video links here before showing the terrible condition of the original seat in my 52 Merc sedan. Ravaged by raccoons and mice, I had an old horse blanket thrown over it for temporary test drives but was recently donated a seat from what I believe is a Dodge Caravan. One of the quick detachable rear or mid row seats. The color was a good match and the width was right on to fit between the doors. Had to fabricate up some iron to get it to bolt down to the original seat mounts. Boy, what an improvement. Feels and looks great when we had it out for a test run on the weekend.

The seat looks good but, man I love that steering wheel. Nice outside picture too. Is that dirt you test drive on, your driveway or the road you live on?......MARK

Yes the 52 Merc steering wheel and dash is my favourite of any fifties Ford. And my driveway is half a mile long. Actually ventured onto the municipal road with it on the weekend. Several miles of smooth open road with maybe 2 vehicles per day to watch out for. So I could wind the old flathead up to a nice cruising speed.
Now I guess I'll have to do it again as we did a points and timing adjustment and I really need to see if it improved it. :D

seat looks right at home. The driveway looks like the path to heaven, what a nice view without city obstructions!
