New points not lining up

The two screws that hold the points block each have a lock washer, but the screw over the large adjustment hole also has a flat washer. I'm having computer problems and can't get into my usual laptop with all my pictures.

I got some upper plates and original points recently from Snyders and had the same problem with misalignment. These upper plates did not have an elongated hole to adjust the point block so I had to elongate the hole myself with a small file.

I lifted the plate on a spare distributor and sure enough, it has an elongated slot! In all the years since 1956 I never had an opportunity to learn that. I've had this car over 20 years. Just goes to show, there's always more to learn. Ron W
