New pitman arm too loose

Called the vender who could check the blue prints and give me the actual spec. Of the pitman arm and the new arm was inspect. I had to crank the pinch bolt a bit tighter and the pitman arm is now nice and tight to the shaft.

So, did the vender say it was forged? If so that would give peace of mind that really torqueing the bolt won't hurt the arm or set it up for a future stress crack.

I would save the old arm new ball can be welded on,did this 40 years ago,I try to refurbish original parts if possible.

Snyders catalog show forged steel. I am sorry if the offends anyone, the suggestion of it being cast iron should have not been made in the first place and now only serves to confuse people. Any reference to it being cast iron should be removed.

I use a long 1/2 inch drive pull handle with a six point socket . I can usually make them tighten up. I haven't broken a nut or bolt yet .
