Are there any photo's of Terry's new engine or a vidio of it running in car. What do you thing the cost is going to be, thanks Bruce in southern OHIO

Terry Burtz will soon have a New A Block with all the good stuff in it. It will be a A Block outside only. Inside will be all the stuff we been looking for, 5 mains, full C/Balanced, full pressure, heavy rods. Several blocks have been cast and he's been to a couple of shows with them. Iceman

All he has sent so far are pics of the block being cast,, at least thats what I've seen.. It seem promising.

Go to model.a.engine@hotmail.com He sends an update every month. His price is not definate, but is shooting for a $3,000.00. All your externals will bolt on so all you need is the block, crank, rods. You do the rest, and it looks like Henry did it. Iceman

Ice man,
Thanks for the motor link, I emailed to let them know yes I am definately interested in seeing this project continue.

That is a nice looking engine, is that Gemsa head based on a Rutherford? Nice to see the hidden cam, drive, the Gilmore belt drive on some of the others just looked too modern to me.

"is that Gemsa head based on a Rutherford?"

Hard to say one way or another Roadster, as the following excerpts will show.

THE H.A.M.B. forum.
"If it is aluminum it may be a head the late great Joe Gemza cast using the Rutherford patterns."

Street Rodder Magazine
"This is the first of the four-port intake, four-port exhaust heads. The head was originally made in about 1934 by the Morales brothers for use at Legion Ascot. It was a single overhead cam in its original form, not a rocker arm. In later years, Joe Gemsa got the pattern from Morales and renamed it the Gemsa head. He converted it to a rocker arm operation, although he did build a few overhead cam versions too. This was a nicely designed head and ran very well."

When I returned the first casting to Lodi Iron Works they told me they thought they would have a block that will be machined and other components to display at the Turlock Swap Meet. If so it will be in Building one space 3 January 29-30 2011.
