just wondering if most of the king pin sets are the same quality or is there some better or worse than others.Or are they all made by the same guy. Its for a 46 ford. I was looking at the moogs. Thanks

Google Moog, ask if they are made in the united states.
They were a quality brand name in the past.

I can't identify the brand we had as it a plain box. But the machinist has major problems after going through his normal procedure of fitting the bushes in the 46 spindles. The King pins bound up part ways through each turn . Double checked every thing and finally found faulty kingpins they checked round but had an odd spiral high spot the full length. Don't know how to check for this , the next set were better but not perfect as he said.

There are different thrust plate bearings in some of the off shore stuff that have pretty small ball bearings in them. I like to see some good photos of them before I buy but most of my stuff is Mercury. They are a bit harder to source good ones with the OEM type thrust bearings with the larger ball bearings in them.

I agree with Bob C. look for NOS or NORS that are American made. Some good bargins on e-Bay and I've never had a problem with them

I got ahold of moog and asked them where they were made and they were like a politician.they told me they make there product world wide and I would have to look at box. in other words china
