New here, couple questions

Hi, I actually have a 1947 Lincoln V-12, but my Ford service manual covers Lincoln with many of the same recommendations.

The universal joint specifies "universal joint lubricant". Can anyone recommend a modern equivalent? Tried asking on AACA, but no replies.

I'm using Penngrade classic GL-4 in my transmission and overdrive, any problems using that?

Many guys say to bury the joint in John Deere corn head grease during initial assembly. Anything you squirt through the zerk will not really get to the joint. It basically just lubes the torque tube bell.

Many thanks, it's kind of on hold for now. My overdrive seal is leaking copious amounts of gear oil into the universal housing, and it's oozing out of the zerk fitting. Started to take things apart after finding a suitable spring spreader, but realized there's more to it than just pulling the torque tube off and popping a new seal in.
