Hi guys new to this site. Just bough a 1940 ! Aleast that what I thought it was found out by photos I have a 40 front and a 46 or 47 cab and 40 bed. Will need plenty of help to put together and would love you guys help with questions I have when I get started with my new project. Thanks .

Welcome to the FordBarn. We love to see photos so if you can, please post some of your truck. You'll find a lot of good help here. Vic

welcome to the "barn". I have two 41 trucks, one original 1 1/2 ton, other is runstorated 3/4 ton. There is not a lot of differences in the cabs from 40 to 47, the most promonent is the way the front fenders attach to the cab 40/41 bolt to the cab with bolts on the cowl kick panel (8 bolts) the 42 up fenders attach ro rhwe cowl kick panel with one bolt on each side-lets the fenders move with the frame. 40 dash has a raised panel for the Ford script in the center 41 up has two holes to attache a raised panel with ford scrip embossed. I am in western SC and will be glad to answer questions you may have.

Welcome aboard. There are plenty of Ford truck owners lurking on this site who are ready willing and able to respond with support if needed.

Welcome - I have the same sheetmetal combo with my 40 p-up project - no real problems that we all can't handle! Plenty of information here ....

Welcome Wayne! Sounds like you have an interesting project. Anxious to see pictures as you progress. The `40 Ford cars and pickups are among my favorites.

Welcome to the barn Wayne. Sounds like a great project and you'll find plenty of 40 PU fans here. There are some really great people here that you can count on. Pictures are always nice too! RPM
