New guy with a Y block question

The box is a Vega, but I expect the same issue will be there with OE. The shiney stuff is adhesive backed insulation on box, oil pressure sender, and oil pickup. No problems. Guys over on the HAMB may have some better options to offer.
 
After taking off the remote oil filter and bypass, I tried fitting a short version of the usual Ford filter, an FL300, and no go. A Speedway right angle adapter is due to arrive tomorrow, so hopefully it will work. The remote setup was an oil leaking PITA.

My steering box is a Toyota which is basically the same (demension wise) as OE so I guess I will be heading down the same road.
 
Couldnt get a half size oil filter to clear in any direction with the right angle adapter. The bypass with remote is the only option in my situation. I put the remote assembly back on after tightening everything. Did get a turn on the barbed hose connectors on the bypass, and 1/2 turn on some allen plugs in the bypass, so that is all that can be done.
 
Soumds like the remote filter will be the way to go for me to. Maybe a turn here and a half turn there is all you needed.
