Hey all, new member on here just haven't had anything worthwhile to post about. Been a ford guy (own(ed) a chevy or two as well) for twenty some years and finally decided to get into something a little older than I'm used to. Just acquired a new project 1938 ford pickup which is in need of some help, looking forward to receiving advice and guidance in putting this old work horse back on the road. See you in the forums.

Welcom Pete. This is the place where you can get answers to almost any question that might come up on early flatheads. Ask away. Good luck on your project.

Pete, Lawson really means any question whatsoever... Like how many girls can you carry in your pickup and still be able to shift gears. Lawson knows all those answers.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.

Welcome Pete, you gotta join the 38/39 social group. Thank's to guy's like you and I, it growing every week.

I got a chevy too, everyone need's a winter beater. Before you start, take lots of pre-restoration pic's for reference and re-use your original Ford part when you can, rebuilt by the many American craftsmen on this site!

Those women's will be comin around when they know you got a peekup!:D

Hiya, Pete -

You and I are pups in the same litter here. I picked up my pick up a month or so ago. '39 for me.

I am not much more than a parts swapper, so I have only knocked off the petrified grease lumps on the bottom and ordered up my first BOBOP. (Big Ol Box O' Parts).

I am so happy to see how few parts these trucks are made of, and how many catalogs there are to provide them!

Looking forward to sharing progress reports with you. Best of luck!!!

Welcome to fordbarn Pete! This website will be invaluable to your restoration project. My dad and I are finsihing up the restoration of our 39 pickup. Ask all the questions you have and we will be glad to help you out. Welcome aboard.
