Welcome and congrats for getting your son involved. He's the same age mine was when we started restoring our car 6 years ago. Greatest experience of our lives together.

Good luck on the restoration and keep us posted on progress and ask any question you have. There are no dumb ones and someone will know the answer.

Welcome aboard! Looks like you're off to a good start on your project. I recently helped a friend restore his '34 5WC, and it was a great experience (mostly). Yours appears to have the full trunk, rather than the rumble seat, which will simplify things a bit. Also, you are fortunate to have the original rear window shade and hardware. The shade is easily replaced, but finding the correct hardware can be a challenge.

Good luck, and keep us posted on your progress:)

Welcome aboard. A lot of fun is in store for you. First thing I noticed about your car is that it has a later 24 stud engine. Should have a 21 stud to be correct. The 24 stud will gove it a little more boost. It's your car, so do your own thing with it. Good luck.

Better count again, looks like the original 21 stud engine to me. I would like to know more about your dads history with the car.To me it looks like one of those occasions where your dad had a relative or knew the neighbor who had owned the car since new and your dad had the foresight to buy it and keep it intact.

Welcome Jim, "The first thing I noticed" is you're doing a great job! Love the family thing on the build, doesn't get any better than that and on a great car. Build your car the way you guys want and don't be bothered by all of the "meat heads" that will tell you what you should have done. Lots of good info on this site and good luck on the build, keep us posted on your progress.

Lawson look at the radiator hose. 1934, is that a fuel pressure or oil pressure gauge?? Looks like a fun project. G.M.

Wow! Nice work!

Welcome to the barn!

I am working on a 33 5 window that was my grandfather's car. He bought it in 1956.

Keep us posted!

hi guys, thanx for the responses, observations & questions. the father and son thing is priceless, we have done alot over the years together with these old cars. I am here to meet new friends and also learn about these ole cars. it is a 21 stud, but it is a 36 block, my dad does have a 34 block. the gauge on top the intake is actually a amp. gauge to check and make sure the generator and cut out are working, that will all be removed when we get to final detail and assembly. its all original henry ford steel including fenders, floors all original as also all of the cars wood. my dad found this car in 61 sitting in a garage. he knew they were getting hard to find. he paid $300.00 for the car and had to borrow the money for it from the credit union. my dad did convert it to a rumble seat (wish he didn't). so we are looking for some missing items. if anybody has anything for a rumble seat please let me know, or if you know of anybody you can pm me. i know we are looking for the drain pain that lays in the trunk for the rumble seat and the brackets for holding in the seat. some of our other cars include a 57 chevy hard top, unrestored/documented special ordered orange 1970 LS6 chevelle, 72 nova street car and my dad has his dads old 72 buick lesabre. again thanx for the welcome and replies, Jim

Good to have another Hoosier on board! I'm just West of Kokomo and have a '46 Tudor. If I can be of any assistance, don't hesitate to ask. Lots of good people here and a wealth of knowledge available for the asking. Glad to have you here!

Welcome aboard. The first thing I noticed was the cool colour. There is a guy locally who has a 34 coupe in the same colour. These cars are not common in New Zealand. You have some neat vehicles. The 70 L6 Chevelle is one of my favourite muscle cars. A mate of mine imported a 70 L5 chevelle in the late 80's early 90s. I think it cost him about 4K US at the time, it came from Texas, green paint was a bit sunburnt, 40 odd K miles, rock crusher box, bench seat and cowl induction. He had it for sale recently.

Don't know if you've shopped much on ebay but there is a lot of stuff on there that I've bought over the years for my '47. Here are 12 parts for the '34 rumble seat including the hinges and pivots for the seat in case that's what your're looking for: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odk...570.l1313&_nkw=1934+ford+rumble+seat&_sacat=0

There are also a lot of new parts available at Mac's: http://macsautoparts.com/search.asp?sb=0&ls=y&camid=F30&year=1934&make=Ford&ss=rumble&x=0&y=0

And at C&G: https://secure435.hostgator.com/~dl...ddTpCart.x=15&btAddTpCart.y=8&btAddTpCart=ADD
