New guy here with a '40 Convertible

1940 Ford Deluxe Convertible Club Coupe inherited from his Dad.

Is there still a functioning V8 Club Regional group in the Sarasota Punta Gorda area? The fellow who just acquired the 40 from his dad might want to contact the group with his concerns re sorting out the issues with his new gem. Between the Barn and the group we may be able to bring him into "The Fold." Bill.

Yea, everyone repeated what I said. I want a reliable car I can enjoy. If this isn't it I'll find one or maybe two I can enjoy. It's my car I can do what i want. Clear?
People are so free with their unsolicited opinions. We're talking about making an 80 year old car enjoyable. If I can't find a friendly group of fellow car enthusiasts here without something to prove I'll just move on to another forum.

Also Bill, I got your PM, I can't respond yet(need 10 posts) Thanks for the kind words about my Dad.

Thanks for posting the photo. Wow! Ya got a pretty one there!

Wow, what a beautiful 40. Seems like it only needs small things to get it running reliably. There is tons of good info on here.

I took my 40 on a reliability run a couple weekends ago. Drove it over 200 miles through the Blue Ridge mountains. My wife came with me. We had tons of fun driving the car and it did fantastic.

I get where you are coming from on the sentimental value and getting rid of it thing. My dad has had lots of really cool cars. Some of them I have great memories of and would love to own. Sadly all those cars were sold long ago. His current project, he says is his last, is a MG. I have no interest in that car, haven't ridden in it, haven't helped him work on it...
