New Front Spring Question

I ordered a new reverse eyed front spring because I had a few broken springs. It turned out that I had 6 of the 10 front springs broken, but all of them where broken right in the middle. I spent the weekend pulling the old springs out and the whole front end while I was at it and cleaned everything up and painted everything. I thought by putting the new reverse eyed front spring in that it would lower the car another inch and a half over a stock spring. It looks to me like the new spring raised the front over the old springs I had.

Question is how long does it take for a new set of springs to settle? I like more of the lowered look in the front and now I'm wondering if I'm going to have to go to a dropped axle to get it.

Either that, or start taking leafs out of the new one. It's not going to settle much in your lifetime.

I don't think a new axle spring front assembly will 'settle in' enough to even see a lowering. At least for the first twenty years...skip.

It does take some time for the spring to settle. I bounced the front end a few times to move the process along.

i took leaves out of mine to get the stance i wanted . but drive it first & let it find its spot . after it settles , then take leaves out , put them under to take up the extra room on the clamps ...................... steve
